The glacial flood in the Himalayas on August 26, 2026, has left indelible scars across Nepal. Thousands of families stand without homes and schools. EWB-SWE joins forces with long-lasting partner Build up Nepal to support the reconstruction of safe communities in Nepal.

Together with our long-standing partner Build up Nepal, Engineers Without Borders Sweden will support the reconstruction of homes and schools. Through sustainable engineering, we will ensure the houses rising from this disaster are designed to better withstand future environmental pressures.
By raising funds today, we lay the foundation for long-term recovery and reconstruction.

Yet, engineering solutions that can completely withstand natural forces of this magnitude remains a complex challenge. Driven by rapid climate change, recurring monsoon rains are growing increasingly intense, flooding risks are rising, and seismic threats remain ever-present in the region.
– Over our 10-year partnership with Build up Nepal, we have seen firsthand the growing pressure climate change places on local communities. This glacial flood is another devastating consequence that none of us can ignore.
