Domestic Engagement Areas
Engineering plays a crucial role in shaping a more sustainable, inclusive, and equitable world. Our Domestic Engagement Areas create space to reflect, connect, and inspire – both within and beyond the engineering community. Through these initiatives, we aim to support long-term impact by raising awareness, strengthening connections between people, and encouraging more inclusive pathways into the profession. Activities in our Domestic Engagement Areas are carried out by our local groups.
THE REFLECTIVE ENGINEER
We explore the role of engineers and foster collective awareness for a sustainable future through workshops, lectures and case studies. By encouraging reflection and deeper understanding of sustainable and humanitarian engineering, we highlight the responsibility engineers have in shaping ethical, resilient and inclusive solutions.
INSPIRE YOUTH
We inform and inspire children to seek an education in engineering or technology and promote engineering as creative, fun and interesting. This is accomplished by assisting students with their studies, acting as role-models, and showing a non-conventional perspective on science, technology and engineering.
