When the immediate crisis ends, our work begins
We support the rebuilding of local communities affected by the glacial flood in Nepal.
On the morning of 26 August, a huge section of a glacier and a mountainside high in the Himalayas collapsed. An enormous mass of ice, rock and earth crashed into the river system, triggering a flood wave of unimaginable force. Entire villages and communities were washed away or buried in mud. Roads and bridges disappeared. Nearly 1,000 people have died and almost 4,000 people are still missing.

Thousands of people stand without homes and schools. Children who have lost their parents. Villages who have lost half their neighbourhoods. Soon, they will face the daunting task of rebuilding their communities and creating a new future.
This is where we can make a difference.
By raising funds today, we lay the foundation for long-term recovery and reconstruction of safe homes and schools in Nepal.
Together with our long-standing partner Build up Nepal, we will use sustainable engineering and proven techniques to ensure that the homes and schools rising from this disaster are designed to better withstand future environmental strains.
