Maximizing Impact — Tax Deductions for EWB-SWE Supporters
/As the spring sun returns to Sweden, so does the annual tax declaration season. This year, Engineers Without Borders Sweden (EWB-SWE) is pleased to remind our community that donations to our projects are eligible for tax advantages for both individuals and—for the first time—corporations.
If you as an individual donated money to charity during 2025, you are likely eligible for a 25% tax reduction on the return you are filing right now. As of January 1, 2026, all legal entities in Sweden are eligible for tax reduction on monetary donations to approved organizations — including corporations. As an approved gift recipient (gåvomottagare) by the Swedish Tax Agency (Skatteverket), EWB-SWE ensures that your generosity is recognized.
What does this mean for your company?
Corporations that choose to support our work through monetary gifts can recieve up to SEK 164,800 in tax relief. For companies looking to strengthen their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) profile, this is the perfect time to start:
Make monetary donations to EWB-SWE and get a tax reduction equivalent to the corporate tax rate (20.6%) of the donated amount.
Separate donations must be at least 2,000 SEK.
Because EWB-SWE focuses on humanitarian engineering, your corporate gifts fall squarely within the new "social aid and research" eligibility window.

What does this mean for you as an individual?
If you donated money to EWB-SWE in 2025, you may receive 25% back in your tax settlement. You must have donated at least 200 SEK per occasion, reached a total of 2,000 SEK in donations during the year and provided your personal identity number (personnummer).
The amount should already be pre-printed on your tax form, but make sure to control it before you declare your taxes.
How we manage your donation
Your trust is our greatest asset. EWB-SWE continues to maintain its 90-account status, monitored by the Swedish Fundraising Control (Svensk Insamlingskontroll). This "quality stamp" guarantees that:
At least 75% of all funds go directly to our project goals.
Administrative costs remain low and reasonable.
Our fundraising is ethical, transparent and professionally audited.
Whether you are an engineer wanting to give back or a company looking to drive global change, your donation today builds clean water systems, access to safe sanitation and educational infrastructure where it is needed most.
