Engineers Without Borders Sweden is looking for a new Secretary General

Being the Secretary General of Engineers Without Borders (EWB) Sweden is not just a job; it is an opportunity to lead an impact organization deeply committed to humanitarian engineering. You'll oversee and coordinate the work of passionate volunteers, managing both national and international projects and initiatives that have a real impact. You'll help ensure the organization's long-term sustainability and success.

Qualifications:

  • Strong Leadership Skills: You have proven experience in leading teams and managing multiple stakeholders. Your leadership style is inclusive and inspiring, fostering a collaborative and motivated work environment.

  • Strategic Thinking: You have experience in developing and implementing strategies, as well as managing large and complex projects or programs. You can see the big picture and plan for long-term success.

  • Communication Skills: You have strong written and verbal communication skills in both Swedish and English, allowing you to effectively convey ideas, represent the organization, and build strong relationships.

  • Problem-Solving Abilities: You are creative in finding solutions and have a development-oriented mindset, able to navigate and address challenges quickly and effectively.

  • Ability to Identify and Manage Funding: You have experience in identifying funding opportunities, along with building and maintaining strong relationships with sponsors and partners, ensuring the financial sustainability of projects and the organization.

Main responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop daily operations and manage both employees and volunteers.

  • Represent EWB Sweden externally and internally, serving as the organization’s voice.

  • Actively contribute to our international work and help expand our global projects.

  • Strengthening EWB Sweden’s visibility and relationships with authorities, companies, media, and other NGOs.

  • Report regularly to the Board on activities, results, and organizational development.

  • Prepare agendas, decision material, budgets, annual reports, and policy documents.

  • Location: Gothenburg

  • Salary: According to the agreement
